This recipe has no secret and yet every time I make it is a success. I used sunflower seeds, walnuts and cashew nuts as they were the nuts I had in my kitchen at the moment; you can use the ones of your preference. There is an optional step but that gives this dish a totally different favor: add a cup of raisins, figs or dried plums. Dried fruits and nuts are always a perfect match! This recipe is super easy and has only two steps, which means no excuse not to try it. Bon appetit!

ingredients.

 2 cups cooked lentils
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
 1 cup chopped cashew
 ¼ cup roasted sunflower seeds
  cup oat flakes
½ cup dried fruits (figs, plums or raisins)
 ½ tbsp flaxseed
 1 tbsp black pepper
 2 tbsp vinegar
 1 tbsp salt
 5 tbsp olive oil
 2 qts minced garlic
½ cup water (around 1/2 cup water)

directions.

1

Grind all ingredients together. Add the water little by little: depending on how dry your lentils are, you may need more or less than ½ cup of water. The result should be a pasty dough.

2

If you prefer your nutloaf with larger pieces of nuts, shred all the ingredients first and leave to add the nuts later.

3

Put the dough in a greased form and take it to the oven for 200 degrees for approximately 20 minutes or till the surface is golden. Let it cool for at least 15min before removing it from the pan.
